We are currently seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our branch office in Raunheim or Bremen at the earliest possible date as Director Finance & Compliance Germany, Poland & Czech Republic (m/f/d).
You can look forward to the following tasks:
In this strategic leadership role, you will report directly to the Managing Directors and work closely with the Regional CFO and our local finance teams to support the achievement of the company’s financial objectives. You will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial performance, controlling activities, and internal control systems, while managing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. In addition, you will contribute to the development and identification of profitable growth strategies, challenge the status quo, and play a key role in driving our KLN 2.0 growth strategy.
Core Areas of Responsibility
- Finance & Digitalization: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial closing processes. Implement profit center controlling structures and BI/ERP systems
- Compliance & Risk Management: Establish and maintain a Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure adherence to legal requirements, including German Commercial Code (HGB), GDPR, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, customs law, and other applicable standards. Lead the company’s risk management activities
- Sustainability: Implement CO₂ monitoring and carbon accounting processes. Support sustainability certifications, such as ISO 14001
- Insurance Management: Manage contracts centrally, including deadline and renewal monitoring. Oversee the company’s entire insurance portfolio
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong global internal relationships to align finance strategies with broader business objectives
We expect the following knowledge/qualifications:
- Successfully completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Business Law, or a comparable qualification
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification is desirable
- Several years of leadership experience in finance, ideally within multinational or global companies in the transportation and logistics industry
- Strong expertise in accounting, controlling, and commercial law, combined with excellent analytical skills
- Proven track record of leading and collaborating with cross-functional and international teams
- Strong hands-on mentality, entrepreneurial mindset, and demonstrated ability to execute strategic initiatives successfully
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English
